"Map Quest really needs to start their directions at #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood." I might be able to get out of my neighborhood, but it can get pretty questionable from there...
This ties in nicely with my current beef: Map Quest and Google Maps do not use the same highway names (or maybe my request was just a special case). My friends and family know that Denver freaks me out - I get lost, the traffic is awful. I can only get to three locations without a glitch and that's providing there's no construction: 1) The Zoo - because I have kids. 2) The Cherry Creek Mall - because I'm female. 3) Auraria Campus - because my son attends school there.
Recently, I needed to locate a business on S. Colorado Blvd. - this shouldn't have been an issue since that is the street I take to the zoo and the mall. I printed off the directions from Map Quest and the map of the business from their website (they use Google Maps). The directions looked pretty basic - after I get out of my neighborhood, take I-25 to S. Colorado Blvd. Got it!! Now the map... Where's I-25? What's the Valley Highway? I've never heard of it despite it looking like a major thoroughfare. Houston, now we have a problem!
After a short panic attack and closer inspection of the map, I finally decided that I-25 probably = the Valley Highway. What's with that?? I gave up and called the business for the directions...
